Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, making regular skin checks an essential part of your healthcare routine. At Derrimut SuperClinic, we offer professional skin cancer checks, biopsies, and minor skin procedures, right here in your local area.

Why are skin checks important?
Even if you don’t spend hours in the sun, regular skin checks can help detect early signs of melanoma and other skin cancers. Our GPs are trained to identify unusual moles, spots, and skin changes that may require further testing or removal.

What happens during a skin check?
A skin check is a simple, non-invasive appointment where your doctor examines your skin from head to toe. If anything suspicious is found, we may recommend a biopsy—a small sample of skin taken for further examination.

We also provide minor procedures on-site, such as mole removals, cyst excisions, or treatment for ingrown nails, saving you a trip to a specialist or hospital.

When should you get a skin check?

  • If you have a personal or family history of skin cancer
  • If you notice any new or changing moles or skin spots
  • If you have fair skin or spend a lot of time outdoors
  • If it’s been more than 12 months since your last check

We recommend at least one full skin check per year, and more frequently if you’re at higher risk.
