Fast, Effective Treatment for Low Iron
Feeling tired all the time? Breathless, run down, or struggling to concentrate? You might be low in iron. At Derrimut Superclinic, we offer iron infusions for patients with diagnosed iron deficiency, providing a safe and effective way to restore your energy levels and wellbeing.
Our experienced GPs can assess your needs, explain your treatment options, and perform the procedure right here in the clinic. We welcome patients from Derrimut, Sunshine West, Deer Park, Ravenhall, and surrounding suburbs.
What Is an Iron Infusion?
Iron is an essential mineral that helps your body produce healthy red blood cells. If your iron levels are too low, you may feel weak, dizzy, or constantly fatigued, even if you sleep well and eat a balanced diet.
An iron infusion delivers iron directly into your bloodstream through a drip (IV), usually over 30–60 minutes. It’s especially helpful for people who:
- Can’t tolerate or absorb oral iron supplements
- Need a fast boost in iron levels
- Have ongoing iron loss due to heavy periods, chronic conditions, or diet
Your GP will first confirm iron deficiency through a blood test. If an infusion is recommended, we’ll explain the process, discuss any possible side effects, and organise a convenient time for your treatment.
Safe and Fully Supervised
At Derrimut Superclinic, your iron infusion is performed by a trained doctor or nurse in a calm, clinical setting. We monitor you throughout the process to ensure everything goes smoothly and you feel comfortable.
Most patients feel an improvement within a few days to a week. Our GPs will also help you manage your ongoing health, including follow-up tests if needed.
Please note: Iron infusion at Derrimut Superclinic is Bulk Billed (until 10/3/2026) for eligible Medicare card holders. For private patients without Medicare eligibility, a $150 fee applies. Our team will always confirm your eligibility and explain any costs before your treatment, so there are no surprises on the day.
